London Travel Guide

London has so many wonderful places to visit, it will be difficult to be limited to 10. There are parks, buildings, architecture, castles and many museums. A City metro area of about 14 million people, traffic can be a problem, so it may be best to take the tube or subway when you can.

1. Buckingham Palace
The palace was the official residence of the British monarch of London and adjustment for state and royal occasions. British people rally here.

2. Changing of the Guard
Do not forget to get times and dates of this event, so do not miss it. The time now is 11:30 am every morning during the summer and every day in winter. When in London you have to go to the Change of the guard. To get time to show you can see from just outside the front gates.

3. Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens
Kensington Gardens in the western part of Hyde Park. This park is in the middle of central London. This is a great place to go and relax from the bustle of the city.

4. Big Ben
London's best known landmark is the high tower with a huge clock in it. The name is actually the name of the 13 ton bell in the tower. Time very well maintained.

5. Westminster Abbey
Will be held in an incredibly beautiful masterpiece of medieval architecture. That is where most of the King of the country have occurred since 1066. This is another church where worship is regularly performed.

6. Tower Bridge
Who has not played "London Bridge fell as a child. This is the real thing and another of the most famous sights of London. It started service in 1894.

7. London Eye (Millennium Wheel)
This is to eye a bird's eye view of London. This is a huge 450 foot Ferris wheel. She sits on the south bank of the River Thames. Up to 25 people can fit in each of the capsules of the wheel's. Wheel thirty minutes make a circle.

8. Tower of London
Dating back 900 years, this is a place of imprisonment and execution. Today you can take a tour and see the rooms and some of the things that happened there. The main attraction is the Crown Jewels. They will take your breath away.

9. House of Parliament
Go and see what is being discussed by the Commons and the Lords. See if you can get in the wrong place dedicated to Question Time. You can see even the Prime Minister.

10. National Gallery of Art
This is one of the greatest collections of European painting in the world. In the gallery is a permanent collection covers the period from 1250 to 1900. The collection consists of Western European paintings, which belong to the public, admission is free.

London is full of things to see and this is only a very small smattering of them. Enjoy your time in the beautiful city.
